A Timeless Renovation Rooted in Tuscan Tradition

Perched in the lush, rolling hills of Florence, Villa M is a masterful renovation by Pierattelli Architetture, transforming a late 1950s residence into a harmonious blend of modern minimalism and Tuscan heritage. Spanning three floors and covering 1,000 square meters, the project epitomizes understated luxury, with crisp geometries, dynamic textures, and thoughtfully curated spaces that enhance the surrounding landscape.

The ‘White Cube’ Concept

Inspired by the ‘White Cube’ concept, Villa M is designed as a neutral backdrop that allows the surrounding nature and the client’s personal style to shine. Architect Andrea Pierattelli emphasized creating simple, regular spaces that maximize natural light and flow. Large south-facing rooms, expansive terraces, and carefully positioned windows ensure the villa remains bright and airy, with panoramic views of Florence’s verdant hills.

Reimagined Spaces and Layout

The renovation focused on increasing volumes and reconfiguring the layout to foster openness and connectivity:

  • Ground Floor: Features a spacious living room, a minimalist kitchen with a marble counter and sage-green ribbed décor, a dining room, and a library.
  • Upper Floor: Houses four bedrooms, including two master suites with terraces, Jacuzzis, and breathtaking views. The vibrant color palette in furnishings and artwork adds character and energy to each space.
  • Basement: Includes a studio, gym, spa area, cinema room, and practical spaces like laundry and technical rooms.

Outdoor Living and Pool House Transformation

The exterior spaces are equally captivating:

  • The pool house, once a greenhouse, now serves as a cozy retreat, with wood and resin finishes that complement its natural surroundings.
  • A 20-meter pool with teak decking invites relaxation, while the outdoor lounge and dining areas offer stunning views of the Tuscan countryside.
  • Landscaping includes terracotta paths, a vegetable garden in corten steel tubs, olive trees, and aromatic Mediterranean plants, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.

Design Details and Luxury Brands

Villa M’s interiors showcase high-end furnishings and finishes from renowned brands, including Baxter, Flexform, Poltrona Frau, B&B Italia, and Antonio Lupi. The living spaces are adorned with bespoke furniture and carefully selected décor, ensuring every detail reflects the villa’s refined aesthetic.

A Celebration of Tradition and Modernity

Villa M is a testament to Pierattelli Architetture’s ability to blend tradition with contemporary design. By retaining key Tuscan elements and integrating modern comforts, the villa stands as a timeless retreat that respects its heritage while embracing a forward-thinking vision.
