Understated Elegance Inside a Renovated Spec Home

You wanna see a custom house appealed to a variety of styles? Then we have the home that designer Joan Enger has putted together, a stylish rooted in a very subtle palette and restrained aesthetic. It looks totally elegant and it will make you want to leave everything behind and move in. Yeah, we know that feeling! Now let’s hear the story about the home and how the renovation started.

Enger has approached the 100-year-old home, where no one lived like for 50 years. Can you imagine the first look? The front door was covered in graffiti and the roof had a hole the size of a car. Not so attractive, right? But, the magic begins 17 months later when Enger started working on this house with her developer husband so they can transform the house. They did an amazing job by transforming the property into a classic and comfortable home with a design that didn’t feel heavy-handed.

The tour starts with the kitchen,  where there is a custom oak kitchen cabinetry with custom brass detailing. Also, there are circular pendant lights that provide contrast and bring out streaks of black in the marble countertops & backsplash.

When walking into the living room the eleven-foot ceiling is inevitable, there are artworks by Tim Leffens and there is a beautiful overhead light fixture. The gray sofa gives a bold statement together and complements perfectly with the vintage coffee table that has been repainted. With the vintage lounge chairs everything just pairs very well and is totally chic.

The tour has come to the master bedroom, and we can say that stunning is really a small word for it. Vintage pieces, small accent table, chairs upholstered in striped linen, chenille benches.. We can go on but come on, this is the real deal. Everything fits perfectly, the natural light beams into the room make the view even more pure. The intricate mirror and the cocoa-colored dresser are totally appropriate and are completing the look of the room together with the textured rug.

When we are speaking of master, then we invite you in the master bath now. The stand-out feature is the neutral-toned travertine tile on the floor and the wall. The matte lacquer shelving unit and the cerused oak vanity are custom designs, while the tub, the fixtures and the bench are vintage pieces.

Do you have a laundry room? Have you ever thought about it, or just having a laundry machine in your bathroom? Simple ha? Well, let us blow your mind with the laundry room. Neat, clean and so ‘ I want it now’! In the laundry room there is a porcelain mosaic tile and Caesar stone counters that are setting the tone of the space. The room looks organized and aesthetically interesting with the laundry baskets, the glass jars and the woven towel. The only custom thing in the room is the mill work.
