THYTA House, designed by LASSA Architects, is a serene family retreat nestled in the rugged mountains of Lefkada, Greece. This thoughtfully crafted residence balances innovative design with environmental sensitivity, embracing the island’s breathtaking natural landscape.
Shaped to mirror the curvature of the mountain, THYTA House integrates seamlessly into its surroundings, with planted rooftops and subtle tones that allow the structure to disappear into the terrain when viewed from the sea.
The architectural heart of THYTA House lies in its elliptical living room, which opens onto a private courtyard. This unique layout provides shaded outdoor living spaces while framing captivating views of the mountains and sky. A planted roof punctuated by oculi showcases olive trees, creating a harmonious blend of built and natural environments.
A column-free pergola extends the shaded living space, offering uninterrupted views of the Ionian Sea and enhancing the connection between the interior and exterior.
THYTA House prioritizes sustainable living through its design and material choices.
Spread across two levels, the house offers a variety of functional spaces.
The construction of THYTA House employed offsite CNC-cut formwork elements, designed and assembled by LASSA Architects. This method streamlined the building process, reduced costs, and adhered to the site’s unique constraints. The structure’s neutral palette of blues, greys, and greens complements the surrounding landscape, ensuring a timeless aesthetic that respects its environment.
