Synonyms of space, light, an industrial past, and an urban anchorage, the lofts display rebellious origins. From New York to Brussels, here is the trajectory of a bohemian way of life recovered, over time, by a bourgeoisie in search of thrills. To the point of becoming an elitist architectural design.
There is a misconception about lofts. These are not only the vast contemporary apartments, which we see in magazines, whose volumes are open and the decoration inherited from an industrial past but also, and above all, housing and furnished workspaces, to from the second half of the twentieth century, according to certain architectural and sociological principles.
This interior is so atypical, the places have a crazy charm!
The exposed beams, the red brick walls, the old columns: all of this history combines wonderfully with the contemporary architecture of the open kitchen; and the different styles of furniture, sometimes vintage, Scandinavian, or even British-inspired.
And what about this direct view of the Brooklyn Bridge? We don’t think we can get bored of it! We imagine ourselves curled up on the old Chesterfield sofa, a hot cup of tea in hand, admiring the view… Don’t you?
We must admit: we love New York! Its atmosphere, its people, its culture: definitely a fan of this city. So how do you say, how can you describe what we felt when we saw the images of this loft in New York?
