The White House is a contemporary cube-like residence that was completed by the Brazilian Architecture Studio MK27. This house is quite a large home with approximately 5380 square feet space inside the home with even more space on the outdoors that features a stunning swimming pool and lounge area. Below, you will have to chance to get to know this home in better detail. Enjoy!
From the architects: “Comfort and building maintenance throughout the years are two fundamental aspects for houses built in tropical areas next to the sea, where the high temperatures and the effect of the sea air determine the extreme local conditions. The White House project, located on a beautiful Brazilian beach, on the northern coast of São Paulo, made these questions as determinant to organize the plan and for the selection of materials to be used.”
The interior and the outdoor areas in the White House are connected or divided by floor-to-ceiling window frames like true walls of sliding glass. This, along with the wooden perforated doors create a pleasant thermal sensation as well as cross ventilation that reduces the room temperature. The wooden doors also serve as shades for the interior without interrupting the breeze.
The ground floor is host to the entire social area of the house that also includes the kitchen which faces towards one of the side gardens. The bedrooms are on the first floor and the roof has a terrace garden with a deck that can be accessed by a flight of stairs.
