7. Tile style. The mix of tile brings this bathroom by designer Francisco X. Arredondo of North Arrow Studio to life amid a palette of white, gray and wood.
The walls are lined with handcrafted 2-by-20-inch ceramic tile in two colors, with the darker of them flowing under the tub. The floor of the vanity area has larger gray tiles.

The floor tile instantly makes a statement, she says, but your eye also falls on details like the shiplap behind the vanity and the brass fixtures that warm up the room.

4. Naturally relaxing. Natural tones mix with sleek white features, such as the Blu Bathworks tub, to create this calm, refreshing space designed by Jessica Maktal of Aerial Design and Build. The spacious area allowed the homeowners to have a tub and shower, all within the same footprint of handmade mosaic cement tile.
Maktal paired the tiles with teak shelves in the niche and a solid teak vanity.

2. Country cozy. The natural light, walk-in shower and neutral color palette make this bathroom feel spacious, even though it’s more on the cozy side, says Charlotte Jenkins of Unique Home Stays. Overhead, the bathroom has its original wood beams; underfoot, designer Paul Hervey added tiles with a wood look.
“The secluded woodland setting is mirrored in everything from the color of the walls to the rustic beams ceilings, creating a truly relaxing space where you can feel at one with nature,” Jenkins says.
