Open concept living is an ever growing trend between the new homeowners that decide to live in a house. There are a lot of advantages that the open concept offers. Most importantly it makes the space seem even bigger than it already is as well as allowing the air to flow from the indoor areas to the outdoor areas thus keeping the atmosphere fresh at all times.
Today, we are going to show you a home that takes all of the advantages of open concept living.
Located in Singapore, the Six Ramsgate Residence is a luxury modern home designed by Wallflower Architecture + Design. Below, you are going to have the chance to learn and see more about this residence.

From the architects: “The client’s desire for the home to have a perception of substantial private space has resulted in the development of a spatial program that internalizes spaces such as pools and gardens normally regarded as external to the envelope of the house. By zoning spaces such as the bedrooms and servants’ quarters on alternative levels, i.e. 2nd story and basement levels, the ground plane is freed from walls that would have been required if public and private programs were interlaced on the same plane.”

With 82 ft of width and 157 ft of depth, the intermingled internal garden and column-free vistas create a continuous and unbroken visual depth of 131 ft that ties together the entryway, swimming pool, living area, garden court and dining areas.
An important feature that is worth mentioning about this residence is that the environmental transparencies at ground level and between courtyards play an important role by passively cooling the house. The use of thick masonry walls on either side of the house also helps to keep temperature gradients small within the house.
