The bathroom is a space reserved exclusively for our privacy. A room in the house where we relax, take care of ourselves and wash, is why most of us seek to create environments that convey a lot of peace and tranquility, and where we can feel very comfortable and relaxed. To achieve this, it is essential to make adequate use of space and materials, as well as knowing how to play with lighting, both natural and artificial, or other natural resources such as the use of plants.
But where is the design? Getting the bathroom to fulfill its functionality is relatively easy, but it is not so easy to make it stand out for its design or beauty. In fact, it is one of the few rooms in the house where it does not normally occur to us to include too many decorative motifs or pieces of art. And maybe we are wrong.
This has been shown to us by Patricio Ballesty and Jorge Subietas, two multidisciplinary talents from the world of design and interior design, with the result of their collaboration in the creation of the Villeroy & Boch showroom/office focused on the world of bathroom and wellness, in which they have inspired by nature and its colors, its textures, and its balance.
To make a bathroom or toilet something more than four walls lined with tiles. We have sought to surprise with the use of materials and textures ”. And they have succeeded.
The designs presented in the exhibition evoke the natural world, art museums, and palatial environments, with the use of fresh colors and the warmth of velvet, which this autumn returns with force as a new trend for 2020.
All of them, options that we can take as a reference when redecorating our bathroom without the need to carry out works or reforms.
