Designed with spaciousness and comfort in mind, S House by Elips Design Architecture is all that any homeowner could ever ask for.
S House is a 2+1 residential project designed by Feza Ökten Koca, Founder of Elips Design Architecture nestled on the 40th floor of the Nurolife Residence in Maslak, Istanbul. Transforming a pre-existing two-room apartment in to a home with continuity, Koca’s main objectives were the homeowner’s needs, spaciousness, and comfort. The ceiling and floor were among the first things to get a new facelift. Likewise, the open kitchen was fitted with glass doors, thereby separating off from the living room and eliminating any potential odour wafting from one space into the other.
The design emphasises transparency. Bronze-tinted glass allows daylight to trickle from the kitchen into both the dining room and the corridor leading down into the bedroom, while keeping each space separate. Not only does it give the apartment aesthetic perception, it also strengthens the overall sense of translucency throughout the design because of the minimal dimensions used in the barrier profiles.
Elips Design Architecture Founder Master Architect Feza Ökten Koca chose demi-classic lines for the lighting in the modern but non-minimalistic design. In wanting to create a warm and comfortable space, she also carefully hand picked every last piece of furniture. As a final artistic touch, Koca made sure to adorn the walls with selected paintings from the homeowners personal art collection.
