After careful consideration, award-winning designer Rob Turner had made the decision – he needed a single source partner for slab surfaces in the exquisite home he was building on Millionaires Row on Lake Sheen, Orlando.
“We agreed we wanted surfaces that were as durable, hygienic, easy to work with and clean as they were beautiful and sustainable,” says Turner who, since 2022, owns and operates CRT Studio Interiors out of Winter Park, Fla. “In hindsight, it seems like a daunting task but, truth be told, we found that single source partner almost immediately in Neolith.”
The property
Located on four and half acres of waterfront property, the two-story, 7,461 sq. ft. contemporary home consists of four bedrooms, four full baths, two half baths, an elevator, four car garage and a generous outdoor living environment with lakefront patio, pool and 2,450 sq. ft. pool deck.
A multi-million-dollar project completed in 2022, the home has already served as a stunning venue for many events attracting designers, architects and builders.
The fit
“We aspired for durable, practical, and sustainable beauty in a total of nine areas of the home including interior and exterior spaces,” says Turner. “Neolith not only matched our immediate needs, but they did so while giving us a great assortment in terms of color, sizing and finishes. And we got the products on time and in top shape with the constant support of their Florida distribution center.”
Turner selected Neolith Calacatta Luxe for both the kitchen island and backsplash. This choice was contrasted with Neolith Basalt Black design in satin finish for the worktops, which created a strikingly stunning space – and one that can sustain spills, stains and the high entertaining use the homeowners expect for years to come.
Neolith Strata Argentum was used for the bar top, powder bathroom, fireplace area and hearth for a warm, comfortable but elegant space. Neolith Phedra was selected for primary bath countertops and office tabletop, and Neolith Iron Frost for the secondary bath countertops.
Neolith was also selected for the exterior of the home for its durability and resistance to weather, so Basalt Black was used in both the barbecue and outdoor fireplace.
Sustainable Beauty
Neolith has taken a decisive attitude towards improving the environment, reducing its environmental impact and creating spaces to be enjoyed. And it’s doing so under the Sustainable Beauty, a global strategy that encompasses three fundamental ideas: Beautiful Environment, Beautiful Creations and Beautiful Community.
Beautiful Environment is a declaration of principles that emphasizes nature through recycling, reducing and reusing to make a positive impact on the planet. With a product that’s so closely connected to the Earth, Neolith aims to highlight the idea of caring for the very raw materials nature provides us. It’s a reflection of the sintered stone brand’s way of being and creating with the utmost care for the environment, including the fact that 100% of the raw materials used for its products are all-natural. What’s more, up to 98% of those same raw materials in some models are recycled, up to 100% of the water used in the production process is recycled and 100% of the electric energy used comes from renewable sources.
Beautiful Creations is another statement being made by Neolith as it creates cutting-edge architectural pieces in terms of sustainability and innovation with a well-renowned circular economy model as the first company in the industry to achieve carbon neutral status. It’s an architectural surface that also helps create beautiful living spaces all while setting design trends, inspiring professionals and consumers alike and offering them solutions to turn each space into something unforgettable with an extensive palette of exquisite, timeless colors. Impressive designs with zero limits that evoke sensations through touch like no other.
Beautiful Community is included as part of its manifesto to describe the brand’s absolute commitment to the planet and the society that lives on it, always putting people first in spreading awareness, preserving, supporting and informing, thus looking after the entire value chain. Along these lines, one significant milestone underlining Neolith’s philosophy stands out, which is having achieved a completely revolutionary figure in using 0% crystalline silica in its new formula, patent granted by WIPO. To date, this is the lowest percentage in the industry.
Availability
Neolith is available in Florida at a stunning showroom in Pembroke Park, which opened in 2022 as part of the brand’s ongoing expansion plans for North America. The space allows guests to touch, feel and live in the world of Neolith with a curation of uniquely designed kitchen, bath, living and meeting room spaces on display, all connected to an ambitious slab gallery offering Neolith’s full collection in a 28, 000-square-foot facility. Neolith’s new Florida facility is now part of the biggest dedicated sintered stone distribution network in North America, which includes a total of 35 centers and showrooms. Just 18 miles north of downtown Miami, the facility is located at 2500 Commerce Center Way Unit 300, Pembroke Park, Florida 33023.
