Luxurious Floating Villa in the Maldives by Dymitr Malcew: A Wellness Oasis

An Environmentally Conscious Design

Designed by renowned architect Dymitr Malcew, the Floating Villa in the Maldives showcases a unique design that prioritizes minimal environmental impact while preserving the island’s lush natural landscape. This innovative structure, accessible via jetty, is based on a modular, lightweight CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) structural system. The villa offers four master bedrooms, a spa, a rooftop wellness hub, a zen garden, multiple terrace decks, and a spacious living area with an open kitchen.

Thoughtful Architectural Layout

The villa’s layout is divided into two main clusters, connected by an outdoor garden that opens up to the sky. This design not only channels the essence of an internal courtyard but also allows for natural ventilation throughout the building. The streamlined design language of the villa is expressed through timeless and elegant forms, striking a perfect balance between subtle nautical references and sleek modern architecture. The horizontal composition of the design introduces a sense of visual balance both internally and externally.

Emphasis on Wellness and Natural Beauty

All living areas, including bedrooms and bathrooms, are designed to offer stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty. The rooftop wellness hub is a dedicated space for rejuvenation, yoga, meditation, and contemplation, providing an ideal environment for relaxation and wellness activities.

Sustainable and Stylish Construction

Utilizing a prefabricated Cross Laminated Timber construction system, the villa ensures minimal environmental impact and waste. The exposed thick pillars along the perimeter not only organize the rhythm of the façade but also function as screens that provide shade and privacy.
