Designed for a young family of five, House for a Brother achieves a harmonious blend of shared spaces and personal retreats. Andres Acosta envisioned a home where everyday life flows seamlessly, creating distinct zones for family bonding, entertaining, and relaxation. The thoughtful layout meets the needs of both vibrant family activities and quiet moments of solitude.
Family-Centric Hub: This area includes the kitchen, daily dining area, gallery, and garden. It serves as the heart of the home, where family members gather to cook, eat, and spend quality time together. Open layouts and visual connections between spaces foster a sense of unity.
Guest and Multi-Use Area: This space comprises the living room and a playroom or study. Designed as a tranquil environment, it is ideal for hosting guests or engaging in focused work and leisure. It remains separate from the main family zone while staying connected to the home’s flow.
Private Sanctuary: The private zone includes bedrooms for parents and children, each with outdoor spaces and bathrooms. These serene retreats offer rest and relaxation, blending indoor comfort with a seamless connection to nature.
The family area serves as the home’s nucleus, linking all other spaces while maintaining distinct functionality for each zone. By zoning the home, Acosta ensured that private and communal areas coexist without overlap, enhancing both intimacy and accessibility. The gallery and garden expand the living space outdoors, allowing the family to enjoy Argentina’s climate year-round.
