Completed by 08023 Architects, the Herrero House is located in Barcelona, Spain. It is a three-story residence totaling 5,650 sq ft. This modern home has a home automation system that can be controlled by a smartphone.
The straightforward geometry defines the exterior of the residence with a series of white, rectangular volumes.
The swimming pool extends the theme of the covered veranda.
From the architects: “Excellently merged within the spectacular surrounding garden, its almost 500m2 area spread over three floors: a technical basement, a living area downstairs and a rest area upstairs.
XXI century technologies are introduced and combined into the housing to build an extraordinary house. The use of new insulation materials exponentially improves energy efficiency. Home automation can control the whole house through a Smartphone and rainwater is used for irrigate the Mediterranean garden and fill the pool.
The living room area has large windows that allow the house can be completely opened to the outside, without barriers to the landscape. The kitchen, spacious and functional is equipped with the latest technologies and high quality cooking equipment.”
“The magnificent porch becomes a chill out area with LED lighting color therapy, changing according the moods of the owners. The amazing white infinity pool are linked with the house and is also able to change the color of its waters.
The renovation create a new wonderful terrace in each bedroom, replacing the old roof. The master suite has an own spacious dressing area and an elegant bathroom-spa with a stunning terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
The basement has two park lots, a gym, some storage rooms and a large spa area where you can forget the outside world. The inside pool arising from the floor combines the relaxing sound of the waterfall with chromotherapy lights.
Finally, the great garden surrounding the house combines Mediterranean native species with Japanese Zen spirit, on a balance of tradition and serenity combined in nature as the ideal home environment”
