Hampton Renovation by Kia Design
After showcasing the Fitzrovia Apartment project by Kia Design, we stumbled upon another one of their stunning renovation projects. The Hampton renovation is a project which transformed a newly purchased 4 bedroom house in Hampton. The resulting look was achieved by mixing and matching some of the existing furniture with new pieces and layouts. In the end, a modern home with a crisp character came to life.
The aim of this project was to redecorate and furnish a newly purchased four bedroom, two bathroom family house in Hampton. We used a mixture of existing and new furniture to create a clean, crisp looking home. Our styling for this house was slightly Scandi, with retro accents and splashes of colour. The overall effect is a modern home with real character, with multiple storage solutions that work, and is easy to maintain and live in for a busy family.
When people have lived all over the world their homes are a great place to reflect on those experiences. Our clients were not born in the UK and have lived in various countries before settling down in England. Drawing together inspiration from all over the globe, this home put a passionate and vibrant tilt on what could be a very bland suburban home. These clients were unafraid of colour in the pieces of artwork they had collected. It meant that we were able to use a huge amount of colour ourselves. These vibrant pops and accents turned what had previously been a very beige colour scheme into something that produces a burst of life no matter where you are standing. It really was great to be able to put a velvet orange sofa in the lounge and have it work so perfectly.
We decided to go a little calmer for the bedrooms whilst still making sure that they had a few punchy colours in them. The master bedroom headboard wall literally lights up the room. The youngest child’s bedroom is not only a place of rest but also play. They previously had a separate play room, and we loved being able to create something that would both educate and inspire as they grow.
The bathrooms weren’t a disappointment when it came to colour. I can’t begin to tell you how much of a fan I am of that scalloped tile in the shower room. Every time we looked at the mood board it made me smile.
