A Harmonious Fusion of Architecture and Nature
Tucked into the scenic Torricelle hills on the outskirts of Verona, F+C House exemplifies the seamless integration of modern design with its natural surroundings. Conceived by renowned architect Michele Perlini, this minimalist residence is a monolithic vision of sustainability, where light, materials, and spatial organization converge to create an extraordinary living experience.
A Monolithic Form in Perfect Balance
Spanning a generous 2500 sqm plot, the residence itself covers 300 sqm, divided into two monochromatic rectangular volumes. This deliberate design choice allows F+C House to blend effortlessly with the landscape, enhancing its presence without overpowering the natural beauty around it. Its striking geometry and clean lines create an architectural statement that is both bold and understated.
Thoughtful Spatial Organization Across Two Levels
F+C House unfolds across two levels, designed for both functionality and aesthetic fluidity. The ground floor features an expansive open-plan living area, where a custom-designed steam-powered fireplace by Michele Perlini acts as a sculptural centerpiece, delineating the dining and kitchen spaces while maintaining an open visual flow towards the lush garden. A private garage is discreetly positioned on the north side for optimal efficiency.
An architectural highlight of the home is the dramatic backlit suspended staircase, a signature element of Perlini’s design approach. This sculptural feature ascends to the first floor, leading to the master suite, which embodies Japanese-inspired minimalism. The suite includes an open-concept bathroom, a walk-in closet, and direct access to a panoramic terrace with a built-in hot tub—offering an uninterrupted view of the picturesque hills of Verona.
Additionally, the first floor houses a second bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a dedicated study, and a laundry area. A sprawling terrace wraps around the upper floor, its angular surfaces strategically shaping framed vistas of the surrounding landscape, reinforcing the home’s connection with nature.
An Ode to Natural Light and Materiality
F+C House is a symphony of natural elements, where light plays a crucial role in shaping the ambiance. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows stretch across twelve linear meters, inviting an abundance of natural daylight into the interiors. These openings establish a seamless indoor-outdoor relationship while golden-hued finishes on the south-facing walls amplify the natural light, creating a dynamic interplay of brightness and warmth throughout the day.
The interiors follow a minimalist philosophy that mirrors the home’s external aesthetic. Clay-finished walls regulate humidity, promoting a healthy indoor climate, while the suspended ceiling discreetly integrates motorized blinds and an advanced climate control system. Bespoke kitchen cabinetry and custom furniture enhance the overall cohesion of the design, reinforcing the purity of its architectural language.
A Benchmark in Sustainable Architecture
F+C House is meticulously designed to maximize energy efficiency, employing a passive design strategy that optimizes solar gain and thermal regulation. South-facing rooms harness sunlight for natural heating during the winter, while shaded overhangs minimize heat absorption in the summer. Service areas positioned on the northern side mitigate thermal loss, ensuring year-round comfort with minimal energy consumption.
A state-of-the-art mechanical ventilation system and custom LED lighting at 3000K temperature contribute to the home’s eco-conscious ethos, enhancing both sustainability and well-being. The result is an architectural masterpiece that epitomizes Perlini’s design philosophy—stripped of excess yet rich in intricate details, where every element fosters a seamless dialogue between architecture and nature.
F+C House is a testament to the future of sustainable luxury—a residence that redefines contemporary living by harmonizing architectural elegance with environmental responsibility.
