Speaking of Jute, that’s a natural fiber that derives from corchorus plants and is commonly used in the world of home decor from everything from rugs to upholstery. Jute has a silky nature, and because of it is often referred to as golden fiber and it can be found primarily in India and Bangladesh. Another thing we know about this rug is that its natural brown hue makes it perfect for masking unsightly stains and it can be easily vacuumed, and spot-cleaned with water and mild soap. An additional and very important benefit is that it’s affordable and eco-friendly as it is biodegradable and recyclable.

Now we are about to show you some tips on how to incorporate them into your design scheme and one of our favorite designs of jute rugs.

How To Decorate With Jute Rugs

  • Go For High-Traffic Areas

The perfect rug for the high-traffic space in your home, like the living room or foyer is the jute rug. It is a durable option that withstands everyday wear and tear. But if you have a pet in your home then this is a reason to proceed with caution, because jute fails to absorb odors very well and just isn’t suitable for damp environments. Because of its soft and natural fiber it’s not a good option but here as good alternatives we can recommend the sea grass or the sisal for homes with pets.

  • Layer Away

We are kind of used to see the implementation of jute rugs on a coastal design anesthetic that’s more on the casual side. But actually they are more versatile that we thought and can complement a range of styles, from traditional to modern. If you are wondering now on how to weave them into your room, just do it by layering it with another rug. That will work things out for your space, but if you live for a bold and patterned rug then create a sense of balance by placing a simple jute rug design in a large size underneath for some additional coverage. These layering rugs have shown that work especially well for large seating areas, an entryway that’s void of character.  Also it is a solid foundation of creating more cozy vibe on floating furniture in open-concept spaces.

  • Try a Patterned Style

It’s commonly known that jute’s natural hue is an earthy brown, but more and more retailers are experimenting with the color on the rugs in patterned styles. They have started to  include chevron and stripes which shows that patterned jute rug can bring personality and a bit of texture to a room. That actually happens especially with the jute rug that has a neutral color palette.

  • Stick to Rooms with Light Flooring

The fiber of the jute rug tend to shed, and that’s kind of one downside. But the shedding comes along just with choosing a natural color. This is one of the reasons to use  jute rug in a room with light-colored flooring, where the shedding would be less noticeable. Also, using a rug pad can help minimize the amount of shedding.

Now you have the basics about the jute rugs, so it’s time to show you some of the designs that you can find for your home.
