We agree that creating a pink bathroom is still very much in Barbie’s house. And even if we played with it during our childhood, once the years have passed, we don’t necessarily aspire to have the same house as the doll. Pink exists in different shades. The powdery pink is soft, restful, it invites you to relax. It is also very refined. The pastel pink that has pleased a lot in Scandinavian interiors are also borrowing sweetness, but it will be connoted more youthful. We have more sustained, more flashy roses, which in my opinion are too violent to create a refined atmosphere. And we can also think of the roses that pull towards purple, deeper but often darker too.
Pink in the decor is rarely used as the main color and in the bathroom, it is also true. We will find this color to revitalize the atmosphere of the room. It will, therefore, be associated with one or even more colors:
While the shades of beige will transport us more in a natural or even Zen atmosphere, the gray invites to softness. A soft, pale, light gray can, therefore, be an alternative to overly girly pink. Gray in the bathroom can find its place on furniture, bath rugs, towel warmers. It can also be found in the flooring. Cement tiles can be tinted gray. Their vintage side brings an extra touch of femininity to the room.
The bathtub is a symbol in the bathroom. It is an invitation to relaxation, nonchalance. We imagine the bubble bath with a good glass of wine, a book, and soft music. We imagine it but in real life, we rarely have time to take an hour-long bath every evening, especially if you have children. And if you don’t use it to relax, the bathtub can help create your refined and feminine atmosphere.
We can think of the free-standing bathtub, which matches very well with cement tiles for example. But changing the bath just for the sake of decoration, it is not necessarily logical/necessary. The dressing of the bathtub when you have a classic model can be personalized to be more feminine. We can think of changing the tiles. We can think of stickers to personalize the existing tiling on the formwork.
What also contributes to the feminine atmosphere around the bathtub is the staging. Pretty bottles of shampoo, shower gel, bubble bath … Candles, flowers sometimes. Again, in real life, it seems to be a pipe dream to create such an atmosphere daily. Suddenly, we are less in an atmosphere conducive to relaxation, refinement, and pleasure. The solution? Maybe once in a while, you can take a break just for yourself, take out the pretty bottles, kick out the bother, put some foam in your bath and listen to music to relax.
Lighting in a water room is both similar to other rooms (in the sense that there are the main lighting and secondary lights) and at the same time different since it is suitable for wet rooms. Choose carefully the lights that will make up the decor of your bathroom. On the ceiling, you can be simple with spotlights. They are practical and functional. The light fixture (s) around the mirror may be less simple. We can think of rows of round bulbs reminiscent of make-up mirrors in the cinema. We can also think of more worked wall lights. The choice is vast and will allow you to take care of the ambiance of your room.
Finally, the last point that we will quickly mention: bathroom linen. Bath rugs, bathrobes, bath sheets… There are many textiles in the bathroom that are generally exposed to view so that they can dry between two uses. Harmonize them with your decoration to perfect the atmosphere. It is these little touches that will contribute to elegant atmosphere of your pond.
