With two terraces, breathtaking views of the city, and the mountains of Madrid, this three-story house is everything that lovers of the center of our capital desire.
We went to a Spanish attic, full of color and personality. When its owners decided to reform, they sought to respect the old character of the building, as well as certain aesthetic elements that were already in it, such as the moldings, the original hydraulic floor, the carpentry, etc.
At the same time, the house had to be adapted to the current needs and specifications of its owner, who practices yoga, paints, and works at home, and likes to receive friends at home.
And, that’s what interior design and decoration are based on, not on following fashions and trends just because. If these are adapted to our needs and lifestyle, they are welcome, but if they do not fit into our daily lives, they will end up making us feel like strangers in our own home and it will not be appropriate. A decorator has to understand the needs of his client well.
Let’s see for example the colors of this house, it is a very particular mix, in furniture, floors, wallpaper, etc. the owner is motivated, relaxed, stimulated … surely those same colors would produce opposite sensations for others.
Are one or the other better? no, none is better than another, that is if, sometimes certain changes, would completely transform the style and it would be called something else, but that is another question, we talk about tastes and how valid some colors or others are.
Probably the biggest drawback of this house is the stairs, it is a triplex, but hey, when you go up to the terrace and you come across those impressive views of Madrid, for sure they deserve a lot worth it, do you like it?
