  • Quartz is a surface material that can be very easily cleaned which is always wonderful, since you don’t have to put in a lot of effort in cleaning it after you put in effort preparing meals on it.
  • Just like its granite cousin, quartz brings the great advantage of being antibacterial, meaning that you will have a far stronger sanitary solution and will have to worry less about bacteria and contaminations in the kitchen workspace.
  • Granite doesn’t match quartz’s ability to provide a range of available colors which makes for a more versatile material since it can be matches with a lot more color schemes and themes for kitchens.

What to watch out for when considering quartz

As mentioned, there are many benefits that come with using quartz but those benefits come with a price, literally. If you’re looking to invest in quartz you have to be ready to invest considerably as it can be an expensive material.

Many might think that since it’s not granite, they can get away with a cheaper price but the truth is that it’s still a stone material and the fact that it goes through a more thorough refinement process also adds to the final price. On top of that, it still has the weight of stone, meaning that it can get quite heavy.
