Brighten Up Your Kitchen Décor with Chic Countertop Pendant Fixtures

More than a decorative element, the bench pendant adds comfort, functionality, and a cozy touch wherever it is used. Most of the time, the countertop pendant is used in the kitchen, on the sink countertop, on the center island, or even on a dining countertop.

Another place where the pendant is commonly used is in the bathroom. In this case, pendants can be installed above the sink to provide additional lighting and improve the decor of the space. They can also be used on either side of the mirror, providing soft, targeted lighting for everyday activities such as skin cleansing, makeup, and shaving.

How to choose a pendant for the kitchen countertop?

Not every pendant is the same and you may have noticed that by now. And that’s where the doubt lives, after all, with so many models, how do you know which one to choose?

  • Pendant style and design

One of the first things you should look at is the style and design of the pendant. They need to be in harmony with the decoration of the environment. Colors are also important in this regard. Pendants in neutral colors match classic decorations and more modern ones with a touch of elegance and sophistication. The pendants in bright and cheerful colors can be taken to jovial and relaxed environments.

  • Desired lighting

Another factor to consider is the amount of light you want the pendant to provide.

If the worktop is used for activities that require more lighting, such as cooking, for example, it is recommended to choose a pendant that allows the use of more powerful lamps and with the ability to better propagate light. This is possible with pendants made of translucent or hollow materials, such as glass or acrylic, for example.

For more cozy environments, where soft light is the most recommended, you can opt for more closed pendants and materials with less ability to dissipate light, such as metal, for example.

How many pendants to place on the bench?

Here, the rule of proportion will also be your best friend. There is no minimum or maximum number of pendants that can be used on the bench because everything will depend on the size of the bench itself, the size of the pendant, and the desired visual effect. For narrow countertops, a single pendant can be enough, while for larger countertops, two or more luminaires can be used to create a broader lighting capable of “embracing” the entire space.

In addition, symmetry is an important aspect to consider when placing pendants. If you opt for more than one pendant, make sure they are aligned and equally spaced along the countertop, so you can create a harmonious look. Finally, when installing the pendant, make sure it is securely attached to the ceiling, ensuring safety and stability. If necessary, look for a professional to do the correct installation and avoid future problems.
