The children’s room is probably the most playful room in the house. When we undertake to decorate and furnish this space, we mainly seek to create an ideal universe for our child. But it’s not that easy to combine all of our expectations and find the right balance between wakefulness and sleep. Children need both worlds – not just in decor, by the way. These are nevertheless two opposing ideas that must coexist in a single room. Well, don’t panic! It is still not impossible to implement!
FUN IN THE CHILDREN’S SLEEP AREA
It is quite possible to put a touch of fun and originality in the sleeping area thanks to aΒ Β bed for children and babies: original, mezzanine, bunk, made to measure.Β Generally, children like this type of beds very much, because they are out of the ordinary and invite to enter a world of fantasy and dreams.Β The loft bed quickly turns into a treehouse, for example.Β With a sheet, it’s also a great hiding place!Β While it is important to create a bedroom that is suitable for sleep, it is also a place where your child will spend many hours playing.Β The fun part should not be obscured, and it can be found in the furniture.
FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE BETWEEN WAKEFULNESS AND SLEEPΒ
The children’s world is like the rest of the house in terms of decoration and layout: you have to find the right balance.Β And there, the challenge lies between two worlds: that of rest, which promotes falling asleep, good quality of sleep and that of awakening, with play, imagination, etc. If we take the example of the mezzanine bed or the cabin bed which is very trendy at the moment, we are in the recreational sector.Β We can very well find the balance with clear and plain paint on the walls, a cozy and soft carpet on the floor, and other elements that invite rest and calm, such as a night light with a soft and soothing light. Conversely, if there is a classic single bed in your child’s bedroom, you can add a touch of fun with patterned wallpaper, plush trophies to hang on the walls, or a few brighter touches of color. We can even imagine touches of color in the furniture such as the wardrobe or the desk.
WOOD – YOUR ALLY IN A CHILD’S ROOM
A few years ago, we probably wouldn’t have advised you to put wooden furniture in the children’s roomβ¦ But it’s different now. There is furniture suitable for children with soft and warm shapes that do not create a feeling of heaviness in the room. In addition to light design, wooden children’s furniture creates a warm and neutral atmosphere. Ideal for creating precisely that balance we were telling you about just before. Lightwood and white, for example, are a good mix for a soft atmosphere (as in Scandinavian interiors!) And thanks to this neutrality, this leaves you a vast palette of colors to bring a touch of pep in this universe. You can even go for contemporary colors like coral,
