Although it could be in a lush Swedish forest, it is actually an old farmhouse in the Catalan Pyrenees in which the spirit of Christmas invades every corner. If it snows outside, inside there is home warmth.
This loft-style shelter revolves around a space with three very bright rooms. The three floors of the house became two. The bedrooms were located on the ground floor and the upper floor –with direct access from the outside– opened an open space reminiscent of the classic loft, with the kitchen, the dining room, and great room.
The happy encounter with this house took place about three years ago. It had been inhabited until five years ago. It had neither electricity nor running water and being an old country house, with the stables on the ground floor, the foundations were badly affected. But look at it now! Just WOW!
To unify the flooring, a modern, state-of-the-art vinyl parquet was chosen. It is a unique parquet, a material of which there is a splash version, resistant to water, and that we have also installed in the kitchen… It is the space that fills us the most with pride of the house and in which most of the long winter afternoons.
From the beams that frame the windows to those that decorate the ceiling, which creates the best frame to place the Christmas tree. And the rest of the decoration is sober and breathes a rustic air with certain Nordic touches and loft aesthetics.

Everything in this house gives off a natural aspect and in continuous contact with nature. From the brown paper (also Kraft paper) to the string that decorates each packet.
The kitchen is designed with old wood from boats from the Japara area of Indonesia. The kitchen is one of the jewels of the house. It is essential to have a space in which many people could live together and that was attractive, warm, and efficient.

Many of the pieces of furniture show us the passage of time, such as the chest of drawers and the beams in the bedroom, with that image of solid wood, softened by fir branches, and garlands of pinecones or the worn and burnished dining room table.
The bathroom mirror was designed with deck beams, as were some windows. And it has been decorated with every Christmas elements that create the perfect match with the wood of the ceiling, the carpentry, and the rustic look of the sink and taps.
The most Christmas details also fill the bathroom. The candles, which may well shine on the windowsill all year round, bring out their more Christmas side surrounded by garlands with a snowy finish. We would definitely like to spend Christmas in this house.
