A Modern Glass Roof In The Bedroom As Decor Idea

The glass roof in the bedroom is a surprising choice. This space, which is synonymous with privacy and rest, does not initially imply a large glass partition. And yet the canopy in some cases can be of great use. It is not just a functional partition to delimit the spaces. It is not a simple decorative element either. The canopy is more than that. It separates but let’s see and lets light through. And with a little idea, it can turn out to be a real asset to your interior.

WHY CHOOSE A GLASS ROOF TO PARTITION THE BEDROOM?

A ROOM TOO DARK

There are different reasons for installing a canopy in the bedroom and the most classic reason is to respond to a lighting problem. Even though we spend most of the time sleeping in the bedroom, we don’t just do that. A blind room, a window that is too small, a bad exposure to your bedroom can affect the comfort of your room and create a lack of brightness. The glass roof, therefore, makes it possible to get a little light in an adjoining room so that it is more pleasant to live in.
It is also possible that your room is bathed in light throughout the year but that you seek, for example, to naturally light the adjoining hallway. Suddenly, the glass roof is still in the bedroom but it will serve you mainly to capture the light for the adjoining room.

CREATE A SLEEPING SPACE IN A LIVING ROOM

Another reason that may make you consider a glass roof in the bedroom is precisely the absence of a bedroom itself. This is the case for lofts or studios which are open spaces with several functions. In the same room, we will have the kitchen, the bedroom, the living room… And sometimes it is good to partition without partitioning. The transparency of the glass roof keeps the feeling of space but separates the functions of the room. We can also think of trellises to delimit the spaces, however, a glass wall will cut more noise from living spaces. It’s a little more comfortable.

HOW TO MAINTAIN PRIVACY WITH A GLASS WALL?

POSITION THE CANOPY IN HEIGHT (ABOVE THE MANHOLES)

We just mentioned it, the question of privacy, of tranquility is important when it comes to the bedroom. You can therefore choose to position the canopy at least 1m80 from the ground and raise it to the ceiling.

A LARGE SHEER CURTAIN

Another possibility is to install a large sheer curtain as for a classic window overlooking the street. A curtain rod, a sheer high enough to cover your entire canopy, and you’re done.
