A Living Room in the Chic Nature Style

THE ESSENTIALS FOR A NATURAL LIVING ROOM

We wanted to come back to the strengths that are found in all-natural interiors and more particularly in the living room. This should help you create your decoration, at least lay the foundations for your decoration project.

NEUTRAL COLORS IN A NATURAL LIVING ROOM

White is not the only color that matches the nature style. Obviously, if you like the color white or if you are a tenant and you do not have the possibility of repainting your living room, white works, eh! On the other hand, if you want a color other than white in your living room, with the natural style, you will be spoiled for choice. Cream, beige, pearl gray…

A TOUCH OF GREEN FOR A NATURAL DECOR

What differentiates the nature style from the slow style, for example, is the use of green. The slow style will be all shades of beige or possibly gray and green has little place or in extreme small touch. But in nature – which is still our source of inspiration here – green is still much more present. In the living room, this results in the use of green paint for example. You will find a whole range of green colors possible on the walls (or furniture and textiles) of the living room. We will have dark shades of green like forest green, fir green, chlorophyll green but also lighter shades (if your living room is not bathed in natural light) such as almond green, sage green, mint green.

And obviously, when we talk about natural decor and green, we think of plants. There too, it is a difference between the slow style and the nature style, in the first, the place of plants is less important. We can also draw a parallel with the Urban Jungle style. We think the tropical style is a sub-branch of the nature style. The tropical style is mostly reflected in white walls, plants galore, and light wood furniture. A living room decorated in a natural atmosphere will offer you more possibilities and nuances. And at the plant level, we may find a little less. The approach is not to transform your living room into a tropical microcosm for once. Plants are used sparingly to bring life to your decoration but also a comforting feeling.

WOODEN LIVING ROOM FURNITURE

Finally, the last criterion which seems to us essential to create a natural living room is wood and by extension the natural materials that we will oppose to synthetic materials. We, therefore, prefer solid wood to plastic or glulam furniture. We will also focus on rattan or even bamboo furniture.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT CUSHIONS FOR A NATURAL LIVING ROOM

Papasan cushion, sofa cushion, cushion on the sofa, and armchairs… If there is something that we find in all nature lounges, it is the choice of cushions. We will be in comfortable forms. Before it’s decoration, we will choose the cushions because we feel good about them. Visually, these are padded cushions, quite thick, which may have already lived but which are not quite flat. To give you a more meaningful example, in Scandinavian interiors you can often find sofas with a low backrest and the sofa looks new no matter what. The seat seems not to deform over time. Except that it definitely does not refer to an idea of comfort. In a natural living room, we do not want the sofa to be rigid, we will seek comfort,

WARMTH FOR A COZY DECOR

There are several ways to work with the idea of heat in a room. The use of neutral colors that we were talking about above can be a starting point. You can also use materials that are warm. And that’s nickel, wood reinforces the idea of warmth in a room. The choice of textiles must also go in this direction: velvet is warm by nature, ditto for wool. Linen or hemp is less synonymous with warmth (and again) and are natural textile fibers. In the same dynamic, we also think of natural fibers such as seagrass, water hyacinth that we find in lights or carpets.
