Although both spaces are connected by a wide opening, the hall maintains a certain contrast with the living room through the color of the walls and the ceiling, decorated in a very elegant gray color. Natural materials are responsible for providing the warm touch: untreated wood for the console and vegetable fibers in the form of storage baskets.
Achieving a slight division between the living room and the hall was the objective in the space of the photograph and, to achieve this, a half-height wall was built that was completed at the top with glazing with white profiles. The result is very bright. The entrance is slightly separated on one side and completely open to the living room on the other. The wooden floor, common to both areas, provides a sense of continuity.
Another example of how a narrow entrance hall opens to the living room can take the form of a corridor. In this type of space, a simple decoration works, with few well-chosen elements. A console with straight lines with a wooden top and iron legs, baskets and a vegetable fiber rug, two twin paintings on the wall, and a small bench.
Sliding doors are a perfect solution in halls open to the living room. In the image space, the doors remain almost hidden within the wall but can be closed if necessary. A flexible barrier that is very practical. As integrating elements, both areas share the color of the walls and the same pavement, although the entrance has been delimited with a carpet.
Hall and living room are separated only by a small wall that leaves a wide gap without doors. Without being open to the larger space, the entrance is connected by the herringbone floors, perfect in both areas, and by the white of the walls. Natural materials are at the base of the decoration of the hall: wood in the console and vegetable fibers for the mat.
With a layout similar to that of a wide and short corridor that opens to the living room, the hall in the image has a simple decoration. A bespoke wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling wardrobe has been installed on one side, while on the other there is a console with a mirror. Share with the living room the importance of neutral and warm tones.
