Out of million apartments or houses in this world, some will simply stand out with their spaces. Well, we believe these spaces are created to have an effortless cool factor that’s just hard to pinpoint. Here we have the opinion of the interior designers what exactly sets a pretty well-styled space apart from the rest.
First, the number one thing that the designer notices when walking into a stylish space is curated pieces! Not just any of them, but the ones that are unique! They love walking into a home that someone has their own individual design perspective and aesthetic. And if it happens that you’ve collected uncommon furniture pieces that speak to them, then you’ll be their favorite.
But curating impeccable pieces is always easier said than done, but we have to give it a try. Not only we will improve our spaces, but we’ll get another dimension of our homes, stylish one. So, the next thing to do is to ditch item from an item out of every room. There will be items added that will be replaced instead, looking more stylish.
Entryway
Ditch: The Shoe Rack – dirty shoe rack is not welcoming, neither chic.
Add: A bench or Credenza – let this one contain a shoe basket underneath if you need the storage.
Living Room
Ditch: Small Tchotchke Accessories – they look like clutter, so are completely useless.
Add: Large Statement Pieces – more substantial coffee table books, vase with greenery, a medium size box which is great for storing remotes.
Dining Room
Ditch: Off-scale dining chairs – these are best when used in an office. Work just doesn’t fit in your dining room.
Add: Chairs with texture (dining) – to break the hard materials pick a chair with an upholstered seat. Also, you can choose a good woven chair, your choice.
Bedroom
Ditch: Side tables, matching wood headboard, dressers – they are just not a thing right now. Might have been in the 80s but not anymore.
Add: An upholstered headboard – this is the bets trick ever! Use an upholstered headboard instead of wood. This way you will break the wooden pattern in the room.
Bathroom
Ditch: Small Bath Mats – They look repetitive and sloppy, unfortunately.
Add: A rug – this one will spans the length of the bathroom and will elevate your home to look more high end.
