Tips To Set The Ideal Hight Of A Pendant In Your Home

The pendants are everything! They appear everywhere, always valuing the decoration and making the environments more functional, cozy, and comfortable.

But to get the most out of this piece, it is essential to know the ideal pendant height for each space in the house.

And if you also have this doubt, continue here in this post with us and we will tell you how to install the pendant at the right time. Come and see!

Dining table pendant height

The dining table is the place that most generates doubts when installing the pendant.

Therefore, the first thing you need to know is that the recommended minimum height between the top and the pendant must be between 75 cm and 90 cm. This height is important to ensure the comfort of those who are seated, as a pendant that is too low obscures the view, while a pendant that is too high does not adequately illuminate the table.

Ideal height for bench pendant

The height of the kitchen countertop pendant is almost the same as that used for the dining table. That is, it must be positioned at a height that varies between 70 cm and 100 cm from the benchtop.

Remember that the proportion rule used for tables also applies to countertops.

In this case, as the benches are usually rectangular, the ideal is that the pendants are arranged laterally, filling the direction of the bench’s length, so that the entire area is equally lit.

Pendant height for coffee table

The coffee table is another good place to install a pendant. The piece adds value to the decor and also contributes to welcoming lighting, and can become a modern alternative to traditional lampshades.

However, you need to be very careful when installing the pendant on the coffee table because it can easily interfere with the functionality of the living room. The ideal height for the coffee table pendant varies between 150 cm and 170 cm from the tabletop.

Avoid heights lower than these, as a very low pendant can obscure the view, as well as hinder the passage of people through the room. And if the pendant is between the sofa and the TV, it can still compromise the visibility of the device.
