How To Know Which Furniture To Stay And Which One To Go?

If you have moved house and your old furniture does not fit in the new apartment or you cannot find a place for it, it is best to get rid of it, but with your head. Don’t worry, we help you decide!

A wooden storage cabinet? Of course yes

Storage is always a concern when decorating a house. Maintaining order is vital in the room. Therefore, it is convenient to keep the furniture that serves for it. And even more so if, as in this case, it is an aged pine chest of drawers with brass handles that give that touch of warmth to a living area decorated in beige. In its three drawers, you can store whatever you want, from table linen to chargers.

Iconic pieces? a resounding yes

Whether it’s a Chester Leather Sofa, a Thonet or Wishbone Chair, or a Butterfly Armchair, we’re all about iconic designs! Pieces like these will enhance the decoration of your living room. Never discard them!

A side table? No thanks

With your fantastic coffee table in front of the sofa, you notice that the side table is no longer necessary. Or maybe its style no longer fits in your living room or takes away a few precious inches. Whatever your case, close your eyes. If you imagine the living area without it and you don’t miss it, the time has come to say goodbye. You know, when a piece of furniture does not contribute anything, it is best to discard it.

A rocking chair? No no and no

The number of hours you’ve spent swinging on it when your kids were little! But now that they’re older, don’t you think it’s time to get rid of the old rocking chair? If you have already gone through the stage of repainting it and it still does not convince you, why not donate it?

A stretcher table? No, don’t get involved

A couple of years ago they threatened to return but the interior designers did not pick up the glove. There must be a reason! The stretcher tables no longer do the work of yesteryear and have become an auxiliary element more decorative than functional. If you still have one of these antiques more out of sentimentality than anything else, it’s time to get rid of it. And finally free that corner!

Plastic furniture? No! (unless it is recycled)

Surely that ecological spirit that is already a lifestyle has taken over you. So can you tell me what those plastic chairs are still doing in your kitchen? Not only do you have to be sustainable, but look like it. You have two minutes to stack them and wave them bye-bye. What’s more, do a mental review of the entire house to eliminate any traces of this material. From now on, only recycled and recyclable plastic can enter your house.
